I choose to rip off Kara Walker for my Wall Climbing poster because I just love her style and how she makes a statement with silhouettes.

I really like how it came out but the crit was helpful on things I can def. tweak.

First creative design I have made in almost 2 years that wasn’t for a party flyer or for advertising some event. It’s pretty self-explanatory and I’m really proud of it.

Poster Exercise

I kind of had some trouble grasping what the exercise was but only at 4 box was I able to connect both meanings. I do think the exercise was useful but I just didn’t get it at first and that really frustrated me. I like in the fourth box how I had the hand with the pen drawing the beach scene. In the 1st box I was just confused.

Teacup exercise

In box #1 I tried to the general shape but in box # 2 I got hung up on how I should display milk in the cup. The 3rd box includes me being able to show the cup with coffee by being able to shade and the 4th box had me stumped because I had all this time to draw but I had no idea how to convey an empty cup. I learned with this exercise that details matter when designing regardless of the time given.
